WisLUG update for April 2017

MOC by Barbara HoelApril showers bring…brick flowers? This month has certainly gotten off to a wet start, so maybe that will actually work out for us to stay inside and get some building done.

Here’s what WisLUG has coming up this month:

  • Saturday, April 8th, 10am-12pm – Display and Play at Sauk City Public Library,
515 Water St, Sauk City, Wisconsin 53583.
  • Sunday, April 9th, 1-4pm – Madison Area Meeting at Bricks and Minifigs – Madison.
  • Saturday, April 15th, 1-3:30pm – Milwaukee Area Meeting at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa.

Don’t forget about the building competition at the Madison meeting this Sunday. Members picked up light bricks at the last meeting, which they need to creatively work in to a creation to compete against other members. If you missed out on getting the bricks, you can see the part here. Extras will be available at Sunday’s meeting if you are interested in doing some last minute building. You can use one or as many as you can fit in. Up to five can be provided to each member.

WisLUG had a great event at the Milton Public Library in March. Thanks to everyone who came out and joined us for our display and to check out the newly renovated library! You can see pictures from the event here.

WisLUG update for March 2017

Spring is in the air, and it will be a very busy season for WisLUG members. Here’s what we have coming up this month:

A huge thanks to everyone who came out to join us at the Hedberg Public Library in Janesville last month. Nearly 700 people came through during the few hours we were there. If you waited in line, thanks for your patience and we hope you had fun. You can see photos from the event here. We are planning to be back again next spring.

WisLUG t-shirts are now available for members. If you are interested in ordering one, please see information on Slack or bring money to one of our March meetings.

WisLUG update for February 2017

Mansion by Chris FlorianThat first month of 2017 just flew by, didn’t it? Here’s what WisLUG has coming up during the month of February.

First, don’t forget that on February 4 members will be displaying their work at the Hedberg Public Library in Janesville. We will have MOCs big and small on display from 12-3pm. Come by and see us!

Monthly meetings:

At both meetings this month, we’ll be doing a minifig and parts swap. So, if you have any figs or parts you are looking to trade to someone else, bring them! You can help find them new homes and find something you want at the same time.

Coming up in the future for WisLUG events:

  • On March 11th, we will be displaying at the Milton Public Library from 11am-2pm.
  • On May 13, we will be displaying at the Mini Maker Faire in Madison, all day.
  • On June 17 and 18, we will once again be at BrickWorld Chicago. Come out and join us for the day!

A very busy year ahead for WisLUG. We hope to see you at an event or meeting this month.

WisLUG update for January 2017

Happy New Year LEGO fans!

WisLUG had a great time providing the displays again this year for Olbrich Botanical Garden’s Holiday Express show. Thank you to all who came out to see our creations, while supporting a valuable community resource in Madison. Our displays are down now, but you can see photos of our work this year online.

Here’s what WisLUG has coming up during the month of January:

We’re looking forward to seeing all of our members after the holiday break. We’re also hoping to welcome some new adult LEGO fans who may want to come out and see what we’re all about!

WisLUG will be holding a variety of public display events in the coming months. On February 4th, come see us at the Janesville Public Library from noon-3pm. We’ll also be at Madison Mini Maker Faire this coming May and Brickworld Chicago on Father’s Day weekend in June.
